Some yachts are owned by people who just want to spend quality time with their friends and family. Others are owned by bombastic businessmen, academy award winning filmmakers or pioneering scientists, inventors and entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, the yacht former white house senior advisor Steve Bannon was arrested on recently is the 152-foot-long Feadship Lady May that’s reportedly owned by Guo Wengui, an exiled Chinese billionaire who has business ties with Bannon. And it’s for sale.
But no matter who owns the Lady May now, or who ends up buying it—it’s asking price is $27,900,000 but my guess is it will go for a bit under that—it’s still a stunning Feadship that was designed by Dubois Naval Architects with a Redman Whiteley Dixon-designed interior that features white marble, stainless steel, Macassar ebony cabinets, and bleached oak woodwork. Large glass windows bathe the interior in natural light, and according to published sales materials the views from the owner’s suite are stunning.
The interior can accommodate up to 10 guests in five staterooms and eight crew members. The upper deck features several different seating and sunbathing areas, as well as an external helm station. And the yacht’s distinctive hardtop with glazed roof panels and curved windows, which slide up to seal the space between hardtop and superstructure can provide privacy as well as an additional deck of air-conditioned ‘interior’ space as required.
Bannon was seen on Lady May’s aft deck prior to his arrest off the Connecticut coast. And this spectacular yacht may end up being a bargain for its next owner.
